Large glass frontages look great on hotels but they come with one common issue… heat.
That was exactly the challenge at this Holiday Inn in Newcastle. The reception glazing was allowing too much solar heat into the space, making it less comfortable for guests and staff during brighter days.
The goal was clear:
- Reduce heat build-up
- Cut glare
- Keep the space bright and welcoming
The solution? Dark Reflective Bronze 20.
This film delivers a warm bronze mirrored finish, giving the building a more refined external look while working hard behind the scenes.
Performance that matters:
- Up to 80% solar energy rejection
- Around 90% glare reduction
- Blocks 99% of UV rays
- Maintains visibility from the inside during the day
The metalised construction reflects a large portion of solar energy before it enters the building – helping stabilise indoor temperatures without relying solely on air conditioning.
And visually?
The bronze tone adds a softer, more premium finish compared to standard silver reflective films – perfect for hospitality environments.
As with all reflective films, the privacy effect is strongest during the day. At night, when interior lights are on, visibility from outside can increase.
Installed externally across 11m² of glazing, the result is a reception space that stays cooler, more comfortable, and just as inviting.
Because in hospitality, comfort isn’t optional.
